Getafe has identified Pape Abou Cissé as a top target to bolster their defense. The Spanish club had recently experienced the departure of Omar Alderete, one of their key defenders, to Sunderland in the Premier League for a fee of 12 million euros. Cissé, a 29-year-old central defender from Senegal, is currently a free agent after his contract with Al-Shamal in the Qatari league came to an end. He is considering offers for his next career move while staying in his home country. Getafe is one of several clubs showing interest in him, along with Real Oviedo and some Russian teams, which has led to considerable competition for his signature. Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €1.20 million.
