Omri Gandelman  Transfer from Gent to Lecce

According to Tuttomercato, Omri Gandelman has landed at Brindisi airport and is heading to Lecce, where he will undergo medical examinations today. His club, KAA Gent, authorized him to travel yesterday. He is awaiting contract signing before being available to Eusebio Di Francesco for the second part of the season.

It was announced on Thursday that Omri Gandelman is moving from KAA Gent to US Lecce. According to transfer watcher Sacha Tavolieri, Gandelman will travel to Italy within 24 hours to finalize the move. Gandelman can sign a four-year contract with Lecce, and KAA Gent would earn slightly less than 5 million euros from the transfer, with the exact payment details pending. Sacha Tavolieri also states that the Israeli is already flying to finalize his deal in the coming 24 hours and will sign a four-year contract.

According to Stefan Smet, Omri Gandelman has left AA Gent's winter training camp and is on his way to Lecce. Het Laatste Nieuws reports that Gandelman is on his way to the Italian club and that both clubs are close to an agreement, with discussions still ongoing about the exact terms. The Italians are reportedly aiming for a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option, while AA Gent prefers to receive funds immediately to reinvest. Gandelman will travel to Lecce on Friday to undergo medical tests. Het Nieuwsblad states that Gandelman has left the camp and is close to completing a transfer.

Lecce is targeting midfielder Omri Gandelman. According to TMW, the player has been authorized by his club, KAA Gent, to travel to Salento tomorrow. On the same day, Gandelman will undergo routine medical examinations before signing his contract and making himself available to Eusebio Di Francesco for the second part of the season. The player will take the necessary tests prior to the official announcement of his arrival in Serie A.

Lecce has progressed in their efforts to sign Omri Gandelman, an Israeli attacking midfielder born in 2000 who plays for Gent in Belgium and also holds a Portuguese passport. The Italian club's technical director Pantaleo Corvino and sporting director Stefano Trinchera have been searching the international market to add goals and quality to their attack. Following initial surveys, Lecce now seems prepared to make a definitive offer for the player, who has registered 8 goals and 1 assist in 20 appearances this season between the Jupiler Pro League and the domestic cup. Gandelman, who has 5 caps and 1 goal for Israel, is under contract with Gent until June 2027, having joined in August 2023 for a fee of €2.4 million. His current Transfermarkt market value is €5.00m, and it was reported in January 2026 that Gent would expect a similar fee. Bologna has also been recently linked with the player.
