Noel Tornqvist Transfer from Mjällby to Como
Mjällby's successful goalkeeper Noel Törnqvist is on the verge of completing his move to Como, needing only one more signature. Törnqvist expressed his eagerness to finalize the deal and travel to Como, stating that while the transfer discussions initially involved several clubs, he ultimately opted for Como because of their attractive style of play and the involvement of legendary player Cesc Fabregas. Although Fabregas has not spoken to Törnqvist directly, he has reportedly conveyed his admiration for the goalkeeper through his representatives, describing him as fantastic. Como plans to acquire Törnqvist and then immediately loan him back to Mjällby, allowing him to finish the season there. This transfer holds special appeal for Törnqvist, as playing in Serie A has been a dream for him since childhood.
Como has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Noel Tornqvist, a Swedish goalkeeper born in 2002, who is currently under contract with Mjallby, a club in the Allsvenskan, the top division of Swedish football. The agreement is nearly finalized for January 2026, but ongoing discussions are aimed at deciding whether an immediate transfer to Serie A or a move in approximately 5 months would be more suitable. The 23-year-old has accumulated 86 appearances for Mjallby and 13 for Eskilstuna. Additionally, he has represented Sweden at various youth levels, including one match for the Under 18 team, one for the Under 19 team, and five for the Under 21 team. His contract is due to expire on December 31, 2026, and Como is still in negotiations regarding the financial terms required to secure his transfer. It was noted that the player had also attracted interest from Olympiakos and Empoli. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €1.30 million.
