Nico Paz: Como Contract Extension
Tuttomercato reports on Como's efforts to secure full ownership of Nico Paz from Real Madrid. Como is working to acquire 100% of Nico Paz's registration rights from Real Madrid. Currently, Real Madrid retains a buy-back clause and a percentage of future resale rights. Como aims to remove these clauses to secure the player's full rights.
Como is very pleased with the Argentine international and clubs like Inter Milan have shown interest in him. Como wants to retain Nico Paz permanently and has started discussions with Real Madrid. Mirwan Suwarso, owner of Como, revealed in La Stampa that they have begun talks with Real Madrid to keep Nico Paz. 'We are in conversations to retain him. The meetings we have had so far have been positive, but it will take time,' stated Suwarso.
Real Madrid has not communicated the intention to activate the buy-back clause of Nico Paz, an Argentine talent born in 2004. The first buy-back clause (9 million) expires today, ensuring that Nico will stay with Como for another year. Florentino Perez retains two more deadlines in 2026 and 2027 to reacquire him for 10 or 11 million, respectively. For at least the next 12 months, Nico will continue to showcase his talent with the biancoblù jersey.
Como is interested in retaining Nico Paz for the upcoming Serie A season after his impressive performance under Cesc Fabregas. According to Sky Sport, new contacts are expected between Como and Real Madrid to discuss the midfielder's future. So far, meetings have not led to a definitive agreement, and no official communications have been made from Spain or the player's entourage. Como's intention is to continue the dialogue and try to confirm the talent, possibly even after the Club World Cup, which Real Madrid will participate in between June and July.
Nico Paz is currently playing for Como and is happy there, with Cesc Fàbregas as the coach. His father, Pablo, expressed in an interview with 'La Provincia di Como' that Nico would like to stay for another year at Como. Real Madrid has a buy-back option, as Como paid 6.5 million euros last summer for 50% of his rights. Despite other interests, they would prefer to remain at Como.
