The Sun reports that Nathan Ake has rejected an approach from West Ham due to not wanting to join a team at risk of relegation.
The Guardian reported that Nathan Aké has directly rejected a possible transfer to West Ham United. Aké indicated that he is not interested in a temporary move to the club.
According to CaughtOffside, it has been suggested that Barcelona could interfere with West Ham's approach for Man City defender Nathan Aké. The report also states that Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, and Fulham are reportedly interested in the squad player, whose potential cost is as much as €35 million (£30.5 million, $41.2 million).
West Ham has expressed interest in Nathan Ake, joining the competition to acquire the 30-year-old defender. Ake is reportedly seeking consistent first-team opportunities and favors a club participating in European competitions, which could play a significant role in his decision-making process. The Dutch international, whom Manchester City values at approximately £30-35 million, has been a dependable squad member since his £41 million transfer from Bournemouth in 2020. His current contract with the club extends until June 2027, and Transfermarkt places his market value at €25 million. With competition from teammates Ruben Dias and John Stones, Ake is said to be keen on securing regular playing time. While Everton has initiated preliminary discussions with City, West Ham's involvement in European competitions might better align with Ake's aspirations. As Manchester City is open to selling due to their extensive defensive options, the competition to sign Ake intensifies as the transfer window deadline looms.
