Stade Rennais is one of several clubs interested in signing Nampalys Mendy, a 33-year-old Senegalese defensive midfielder from Watford. Raja Casablanca and Arka Gdynia are also named as potential suitors. The interest from Arka Gdynia was first reported by Sébastien Denis of Footmercato.net. The president of the Polish club later commented that it was more of an exploratory inquiry and that he thought a move was unlikely. Mendy's contract with Watford is set to expire on June 30th of the current year but includes an option for an extension. Mendy has 35 caps for Senegal, joined Watford in August 2025, and has made 7 appearances in the Championship this season. His market value is listed by Transfermarkt as €1.20m.
