Tottenham were reportedly informed of the possibility of a potential return of Mohamed Kader Meïté to Europe. Intermediaries reportedly tried to test the market, while Meïté himself was reportedly open to the idea of returning to European football as early as this summer. However, Al Hilal quickly rejected a transfer, believing it was too soon to let a player signed just a few months earlier leave. Al Hilal do not seem willing to let him leave in the short term.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have been linked with 18-year-old French attacker Mohamed Kader Meite from Al-Hilal. Other Premier League clubs are also interested. According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal and Manchester United made enquiries for the forward before the summer transfer window closed and continue to be interested in him. Al-Hilal is not under financial pressure to sell the highly-rated player and would likely require a premium fee. Meïté, who also holds Ivorian citizenship, joined the Saudi club from Rennes in February 2026 for a reported fee of €30 million and has a contract until June 2029. Before that transfer, Manchester United's interest was reportedly valued at approximately €30 million. He has one cap for the Ivory Coast U23 team and his current market value according to Transfermarkt is €18 million.
