According to reports from journalist Alan Nixon, Milutin Osmajic could be sold to raise funds in the upcoming summer transfer window if the takeover bid led by Amr Zedan fails. It is reported that manager Paul Heckingbottom is keen to bring in new players over the summer, but with funds limited without a takeover, Osmajic could be sold should the Lancashire club need to add to their transfer funds. It is further reported that key players such as Osmajic could be sold in a bid to raise funds for any new signings, leaving the Lancashire club in a difficult situation.

Milutin Osmajic could permanently leave in the summer because of unreliability and missing games from suspension. However, if a suitable bid is not submitted, Osmajic could be offered an extension due to a lack of available forward options. It is not yet known if the Lilywhites will offer him an extension beyond 2027. Manager Heckingbottom is aware that a decision is required regarding the striker's future.

Darren Watson said that he thinks Preston North End need to release Osmajic, that this is a drastic and strong thing to say, but that they can no longer defend the player. Watson also stated that if he were Paul Heckingbottom or Stuart McCall, he would have a meeting with Peter Ridsdale and the owners to terminate Milutin Osmajic's contract and release him. The 26-year-old Montenegrin centre-forward has scored 5 goals in 15 Championship appearances this season. The forward has 32 caps and 4 goals for Montenegro and has been linked with Celtic.
