Stockport County have signed St Mirren forward Mikael Mandron on a one-year contract. Jonathan Smith, Stockport's head of recruitment, told the club website that Mandron is a player they have tracked for an extended period of time. Smith said he will give them a different dimension at the top end of the pitch with his size, physical presence and relentless work rate that make him difficult for defenders to handle. He described Mandron as someone who consistently competes, occupies centre-backs and creates space for those around him. Smith added that the forward is excellent at leading the attack and involving other players whilst offering an aerial threat in both penalty areas.

Mikael Mandron has signed for Stockport on a free transfer. Stockport signed the 31-year-old French and Scottish centre-forward ahead of a number of other clubs, with Charlton Athletic and Leicester City among those also recently linked. A former St Mirren player, Mandron has a current market value of €100k, according to Transfermarkt.
