Michael Cooper Transfer from Sheffield United to West Ham United
West Ham have added Sheffield United goalkeeper Michael Cooper to their list of potential signings and plan to conduct final assessments on the 25-year-old before the transfer window closes. Sheffield United are reportedly seeking approximately £15 million for Cooper, who they acquired from Plymouth for an initial fee of £2 million in 2024. It is known that former West Ham manager David Moyes previously attempted to secure Cooper, but Sheffield United turned down Everton's approach. Sheffield United's manager, Ruben Selles, has emphasized that Cooper will not be leaving this summer, a statement he made following Cooper's absence from the 2-1 pre-season victory over Burton Albion. In the previous season, Cooper delivered an impressive performance in the Championship, achieving 21 clean sheets in 43 matches and maintaining a save percentage of 76.9 percent, contributing to Sheffield United's progression to the playoff final, although they were defeated by Sunderland. Despite West Ham's interest, Selles explained that Cooper's absence from the pre-season game was due to minor knee discomfort and was unrelated to any transfer rumors.
