Voetbal International reports that Maxim Dekker has signed a three-year contract with Willem II. Dekker will continue his career in Tilburg; he had a limited role at AZ last season and has not been part of the match selection since the summer break.

Dutch centre-back Maxim Dekker, 22, has confirmed that he may leave AZ this summer. Dekker stated that he wants to play more minutes and is looking for a new club. He said he is ready for a new adventure and is focusing on his own development. Dekker expressed a preference to stay in the Dutch league, but noted that there is interest from both domestic and foreign clubs. He said it is not yet certain where his future lies. Dekker joined AZ Alkmaar in July 2022 and his contract is valid until 2029. He has 2 caps and 1 goal for the Netherlands U21 team. His current Transfermarkt market value is €650k.
