Hannover 96 is allegedly interested in signing 25-year-old Belgian-Italian central defender Matteo Waem from the Dutch second-division club ADO Den Haag. Schalke is also reportedly monitoring the player, but Hannover is considered a more realistic competitor. A winter transfer for Waem is estimated to cost approximately €250,000, and he has also had some initial contact with Dynamo Dresden. A deal is currently viewed as difficult to complete, as the defender is on course for promotion to the Eredivisie with his current team. Waem joined ADO Den Haag in July 2023, is under contract until 2026, and has contributed 2 goals and 3 assists in 17 league appearances this season.
