The future of 22-year-old Italian midfielder Matteo Francesconi at Cesena is reported to be linked to the status of manager Ashley Cole, as the player is expected to depart if the coach remains. After being a key player during the first part of the season, Francesconi has been progressively sidelined under the new management. His situation has attracted interest from multiple clubs, as he is under contract until 2028. In addition to Italian teams Sassuolo, Venezia, and Hellas Verona, there have also been inquiries from the United States and Portugal. Two Spanish clubs, Deportivo La Coruña and Racing Santander, have also shown interest in the midfielder. Francesconi joined Cesena in July 2022 and has a current market value of €1.50m, according to Transfermarkt.
