Club Brugge has placed 22-year-old Belgian Matteo Dams on its shortlist as the club seeks to reinforce its left-back position following the departure of Bjorn Meijer and with Joaquin Seys being linked to Manchester United. Dams is viewed as a potential backup for Seys or a replacement for Meijer. Dams, who developed at PSV after leaving Royal Antwerp FC's youth setup, transferred to his current club, Al-Ahli, for €9 million. His time in Saudi Arabia has included difficulties, as he previously struggled for consistent playing time despite a substantial salary, which prompted him to say at the time that he laughed when he saw the contract. Dams is reportedly one of several candidates being considered by Club Brugge. The defender, who has 6 caps for the Belgium U21 team, is under contract at Al-Ahli until 2029 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €3.50m.
