Olympique Lyonnais will sell 21-year-old defensive midfielder Mathys De Carvalho, who was trained at the club, to newly promoted Saudi side Al Diriyah. The Saudi club convinced Lyon with a bid of approximately €1 million, which also includes some bonuses. De Carvalho was reportedly persuaded by coach Bruno Lage and may travel in the coming hours for his medical examination. The Portuguese player, who also holds French nationality, is then expected to sign a three-year deal with Al Diriyah, until June 2029. His contract with Lyon was due to expire on June 30, 2028. De Carvalho has 10 caps and one goal for the Portugal U20 national team and a current Transfermarkt market value of €3.00m.
