According to TYC, Mathías De Ritis will not sign a contract with San Lorenzo because a pending payment of $300,000 to Peñarol for training rights emerged. The club decided not to cover this amount when the agreement was close to being finalized. The player had arrived in Buenos Aires, undergone a medical examination, and made statements as a new player for the club. The San Lorenzo management communicated to the player's representative that for the deal to proceed, the issue must be resolved through another means. For now, this has not happened. The negotiation has completely halted.

According to TYC, Mathías De Ritis is joining San Lorenzo on a free transfer from Peñarol and will sign a one-year contract, pending a medical examination scheduled for this afternoon. If no issues arise during the medical tests, De Ritis will join the squad at the Ciudad Deportiva tomorrow to integrate immediately into the team ahead of the official debut on Friday against Lanús. In 2024, he played on loan at Banfield, where he played in 30 matches, 27 as a starter, and scored one goal. Banfield did not exercise the purchase option, and the defender returned to Peñarol, where he did not play any official minutes. His last official match was in April 2025 when he was still with the Zona Sur team.

Mathias De Ritis, a 22-year-old Uruguayan who was recently released by Peñarol, is linked with a move to San Lorenzo for the left-back position. The club's manager, Damián Ayude, has made reinforcing this role a priority during the transfer window. It is also reported that this is the only priority position yet to be filled.
