Matheus Pereira, a 29-year-old Brazilian-Portuguese attacking midfielder in the final six months of his contract with Cruzeiro, has been offered to Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. The player was also proposed to PAOK, but the club was not interested, reportedly because they have those positions covered. Pereira wants to return to Europe to play in European competitions and is being offered with specific financial terms for himself and his club. Neither Panathinaikos nor Olympiacos has responded yet. The player, who has one cap for Brazil, joined Cruzeiro in July 2024 for a fee reported to be €5 million. His current market value is listed by Transfermarkt as €14.00m. In late 2024, Palmeiras was linked with an initial offer of around €12.5 million plus bonuses, and Cruzeiro reportedly responded with an asking price of €25 million.
