Matheus Gonçalves, a 20-year-old Brazilian winger, has been transferred from Flamengo to Al-Ahli for a fee of 8 million euros. Gonçalves had lost his position in Flamengo's main squad under the guidance of coach Filipe Luís and had been relegated to playing for the under-20 team. He was a key player in the team's triumph in the Intercontinental Cup. The transfer details were first revealed by 'Portal Léo Dias'. The player's contract with Flamengo was due to expire at the end of 2027, and he had attracted interest from other clubs, including a 3.5 million euro bid from Cruzeiro for 50% of his rights and a 7 million euro offer from CSKA. However, Flamengo decided to accept Al-Ahli's offer, which was the most substantial. Gonçalves had expressed his desire to play for the under-20 team to secure more playing time. During his stint with Flamengo's main team, he participated in 15 matches and scored two goals. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at €5 million.
