Mario Gila Transfer from Lazio to Brighton & Hove Albion

Defensa Central reports that Mario Gila, a 25-year-old defender at Lazio, is the subject of interest from clubs in England, and Brighton is among the clubs that want to recruit him. A proposal of 34 million euros has been refused. It is indicated that the Seagulls will increase their offer. Lazio is demanding a higher amount because Real Madrid has a 50% resale percentage, and would receive 20 million euros if a deal is concluded for approximately 40 million euros.

Brighton have kept close tabs on Mario Gila. There was concrete interest in the summer, and it is understood that Brighton made contact with the player’s camp as they scoped out centre-back options.

Brighton has been engaged in efforts to acquire Mario Gila for more than a month and is contemplating an official offer ranging between 30 and 35 million euros to Lazio's Claudio Lotito. The Spanish defender, who has emerged as one of Lazio's most sought-after players following his impressive performances over the past two seasons, is also drawing interest from Bournemouth. Both English clubs are eager to secure the signature of the former Real Madrid player, with Brighton currently leading the negotiations. Mario Gila, whose contract with Lazio runs until 2027 and includes a 50% sell-on clause benefiting Real Madrid, is reportedly open to considering high-profile offers as he aims to make a significant advancement in his career. Although he dreams of a return to Real Madrid, his immediate future appears more likely to be in the Premier League, with Brighton and Bournemouth as potential destinations.
