Marian Huja Transfer from Pogoń Szczecin to Rio Ave

Media have recently reported that Marian Huja, a 26-year-old Portuguese-Romanian central defender, could depart from Pogon Szczecin. This topic reportedly first emerged in early December. The coaching staff did not consider the central defender an essential player, and he was made available for a permanent transfer or a loan. In January, Rio Ave, Antalyaspor, and Konyaspor were reportedly among the foreign clubs interested in the player. Miedź Legnica, Wieczysta Kraków, and Wisła Kraków were also mentioned as potential domestic destinations. However, it has since been suggested that despite Pogon's willingness for him to leave, Huja might receive an opportunity during the team's training camp, and his stay at the club has not been ruled out. Huja has one cap for Portugal's U18 team. He joined Pogon in July 2025 for a fee reported to be €300,000 and is under contract until June 2027. This season in the Ekstraklasa, he has made 15 appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist. In January 2026, reports indicated that Pogoń Szczecin and Wieczysta Kraków agreed on a transfer fee of €400,000. In December 2025, Pogoń's asking price was reported to be €700,000. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €1.50m.
