Preston North End are attempting to sign Espanyol striker Marcos Fernandez but face strong competition from European clubs Real Mallorca, Real Oviedo, Lecce, Estoril, and Legia Warsaw. The 23-year-old, who has a contract with Espanyol until June 2028, drew interest after scoring 14 goals in 36 games on loan at AD Ceuta last season. The striker has a release clause of €2m, although Espanyol possesses an option to increase it to €8m by doubling his salary, a move which could deter potential buyers.
