Trabzonspor has begun initiatives to transfer 18-year-old Venezuelan centre-back Marcos Maitán from Monagas SC, which he joined in January 2025. The defender, who has made 14 appearances for his club this season, is reported to have attracted the attention of European clubs with his performances for the Venezuela U20 national team in youth tournaments. It is also noted that Premier League club Aston Villa and Bayern Munich are closely monitoring the player. His contract runs until the end of 2027. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €2.50m. Trabzonspor's plan is to sign Maitán and then loan him out to support his development.
