Marco Verratti Transfer from Al Duhail to Boca Juniors

According to 'DSports', Boca Juniors has an interest in Marco Verratti for the upcoming Libertadores. To sign him, the club would need to free up one of its six foreign player slots, as four are occupied, a fifth was used to sign Marino Hinestroza, and Marcelo Saracchi will return from his loan in June. Journalist Fernando Czyz stated on 'DSports Radio' that while Boca Juniors is interested, an offer from Milan is the only one that currently exists.

DSports reports that Boca Juniors wants to recruit Marco Verratti and is in contact with the player and his entourage, specifying that the Argentine club must first part ways with a player to free up a spot for a non-EU footballer.

Boca Juniors is exploring signing Marco Verratti, with club president Juan Roman Riquelme preparing the transfer to strengthen the team for the 2026 Copa Libertadores. Verratti joined Al Duhail in the summer after two seasons at Al Arabi and has a contract until June 2026, but it is reported that he wants to leave early. He has spoken with Italian clubs including Inter, Milan, and Juventus. Former PSG teammates Cavani, Herrera, and Paredes have encouraged him to consider a move to Argentina, which prompted Riquelme to make direct contact with Verratti and his wife, Jessica Aidi. Riquelme introduced her to life in Buenos Aires. Boca must negotiate a transfer fee or hope that Verratti can terminate his contract with Al Duhail. Al Duhail is aware of his desire to leave, and Verratti's team is exploring options. Negotiations are in progress.

The 'Corriere dello Sport' claims that the 33-year-old Italian midfielder Marco Verratti could leave Al-Duhail of Qatar to join Boca Juniors this January. The portal states that the Buenos Aires club plans to pursue Verratti, who was a teammate of Leandro Paredes and Ander Herrera at Paris Saint-Germain. However, according to sources from 'TyC Sports', the board headed by Juan Román Riquelme has not initiated any negotiations for the former Italian international. The same sources report that he is not on the agenda for the next transfer window that will start in January.

According to media outlet Doble Amarilla, Italian midfielder Marco Verratti, 33, is considering leaving Qatar just a few months after his summer move to Al-Duhail. The same source has stated there is interest from Boca Juniors. The Argentine club's president, Juan Roman Riquelme, has reportedly contacted the player in an attempt to persuade him. Riquelme's persuasion is said to involve highlighting that three of Verratti's former Paris Saint-Germain teammates are in the Boca Juniors squad: Ander Herrera, Leandro Paredes, and Edinson Cavani. The Italian international has earned 55 caps and scored 3 goals for his country and has provided 3 assists in 8 Stars League appearances this season. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €10.00m.
