Boca Juniors have publicly identified Marcelo Saracchi as one of several players available for transfer. This action confirms he is no longer training alongside the senior squad.

The Argentinian club Estudiantes are interested in Marcelo Saracchi, and another club from the country, Independiente, are also monitoring him. The 28-year-old left-back's current club, Boca Juniors, are actively seeking to sell him after informing Saracchi that he is not part of their plans. Celtic are also exploring a deal for the player's return, and manager Martin O'Neill confirmed that the club has initiated talks with the player's agent. Saracchi is a Uruguayan international with 11 caps whose contract with Boca Juniors, which he joined in August 2023, runs until December 2027. His market value is listed as €2.00m by Transfermarkt. According to reports in July 2026, Boca Juniors would consider offers of at least $3 million (~€2.8 million), while separate reports from June 2026 suggested that a fee of around £2 million (~€2.35 million) or €1.5 million would be sufficient for a deal.
