After several weeks of reflection on his future, Mahamadou Diawara will leave Lyon to join Red Star. According to information from Footmercato, an agreement has been reached between the clubs. The transfer is a loan with a purchase option set at €1.5 million. Diawara, a 21-year-old French-Malian midfielder and a France U19 international, is moving to the Ligue 2 club to get more playing time as he did not secure a lasting place in Lyon's first team. Coach Damien Perrinelle convinced the player to join, and Diawara made a salary concession to complete the move. The medical examination is scheduled to take place in Paris tomorrow. The player's contract at Lyon was due to expire in 2028 and his current market value on Transfermarkt is €1.00m.
