Amid reported interest from OGC Nice, Mario Stroeykens' coach with the Congolese national team, Sébastien Desabre, has advised the player to make a transfer. Desabre said that Stroeykens has the mental, technical, and physical qualities to advance to a higher level. The coach also indicated that it would be beneficial for the player's development to play in a team where he has to handle competition and setbacks, adding that Mario needs to play.

AS Monaco and OGC Nice are competing to sign RSC Anderlecht's attacking midfielder, Mario Stroeykens. RSC Anderlecht is open to the player's departure in order to lighten its wage bill and secure a transfer fee this winter. An initial offer from OGC Nice, which was a loan with a purchase option, was rejected.

Mario Stroeykens, a 21-year-old Belgian attacking midfielder who also holds DR Congo nationality, is expected to leave RSC Anderlecht this winter. OGC Nice has recently shown strong interest, while the most definite approaches have reportedly come from Italian clubs Torino and Parma. Turkish club Besiktas has also previously been interested in the player. It is said that Anderlecht is willing to consider a suitable offer. Stroeykens has a contract with the club until June 2028, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €8 million. This season in the Jupiler Pro League, he has scored one goal in 15 appearances. A bid of €6.5 million from SC Braga was reportedly accepted by Anderlecht in late 2025.
