According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Al-Duhail's 33-year-old Spanish midfielder Luis Alberto stated that if he were to return to Italy, he would only play for his former club, Lazio, in Serie A. The midfielder added that he might consider a return if his former manager Maurizio Sarri, for whom he has much affection, called him, but he would not return if president Lotito called. The former Lazio player also mentioned that he has not spoken with Sarri since the coach departed the club, but he maintains contact with his staff. Luis Alberto's contract with the Qatari club is valid until June 2027. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €7.00m. The midfielder has one cap for Spain and has scored five goals in eight Stars League appearances this season.
