According to Team Talk, a number of Premier League clubs have been exploring a move for Delap from Chelsea this summer. Everton, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are all reported to have had conversations regarding Delap’s situation. The report adds that Chelsea remain open to selling and are holding to their £40m valuation for now. Delap is expected to leave Chelsea before the end of the window.

According to sources who told Football Insider, Chelsea have offered English striker Liam Delap to Aston Villa as the London club looks to offload fringe players. Delap is considered surplus to requirements under new manager Xabi Alonso. However, sources say Villa are not interested in the 23-year-old this summer, as manager Unai Emery is seeking a more dynamic and pacy attacker. Football Insider revealed that Villa have enquired about Nicolas Jackson, and Jackson is seen as a more suitable option. There is interest in Delap from other Premier League clubs like Everton, but it was also revealed by Football Insider that Delap intends to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place. Delap joined Chelsea in June 2025 and his contract is valid until 2031.
