Lewis Baker's contract at Stoke City is approaching its end. Speaking on Radio Stoke’s Cold Tuesday Night, Gareth Owen said there will certainly be interested parties for Baker. Owen stated that Baker has a choice and questioned if he will want to remain, suggesting he could get a better deal somewhere else. He added that Baker has earned the right over his career to have a choice and that there is a value associated with Championship experience.

Lewis Baker, a 30-year-old central midfielder, is currently injured. He could be released this summer due to his injury record. In the 2025/2026 Championship season, he has contributed 4 goals and 1 assist in 12 appearances. Baker has been capped 17 times for the England U21 team, scoring 8 goals. He joined Stoke in January 2022 and his contract runs until June 2026. His current market value is €1.20m, according to Transfermarkt.
