Lennart Karl Transfer from FC Bayern München to Arsenal

Bild reported that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are interested in the 17-year-old.

A report by CaughtOffside states that FC Arsenal has Lennart Karl on their list, and that the top talent from FC Bayern is one of three long-term transfer targets for the English top club.

Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring Lennart Karl's situation at the Allianz Arena. An agreement has been reached to extend his contract by a further 12 months to deter transfer interest. According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Lennart Karl's contract will automatically be extended until 2029 on his 18th birthday, 22 February 2026, and will be converted into a professional contract, including a salary adjustment. The new contract will not include a release clause. Karl has no intention of leaving Bayern in the summer and his goal is to succeed at the club, a plan which is supported by his advisor Michael Ballack.

Reports in Germany say that scouts from Arsenal are closely watching Bayern Munich’s Lennart Karl. According to BILD, Arsenal are watching Karl’s development, which has caused concerns over a potential exit from Munich.

According to sources close to the agents industry who confirmed it to CaughtOffside, representatives from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City were in attendance to watch Bayern Munich's Lennart Karl during a Champions League game against Club Brugge. While English clubs continue to monitor him, sources indicate that serious approaches are expected in the summer of 2026 rather than during the mid-season window. Bayern Munich views Karl as a key player for their future, a belief reflected in a notional valuation of €70-80 million. The club intends to keep the player and is in a strong position to do so, as his professional contract runs until 2028, but the summer of 2026 could see competition for the player if his development continues.
