Lokomotiva announced on Tuesday evening that 22-year-old midfielder Leon Belcar has arrived at Kajzerica from Varaždin. Belcar had previously spent time at Dinamo before returning to Varaždin. He had not played any minutes for Varaždin in the current half-season and was not present at the winter preparations in Dubai. Lokomotiva welcomed Leon Belcar and expressed belief in his contribution to the team.

Index.hr reports that Leon Belcar, a 24-year-old Croatian attacking midfielder, is expected to transfer from Varaždin to Lokomotiva Zagreb. The move is expected after a transfer to GNK Dinamo Zagreb was not completed and he did not receive playing time at Varaždin for the rest of the season. The clubs are nearing an agreement for a transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy, although the final model has not been confirmed. The transfer fee will be significantly lower than the previously mentioned amounts for Dinamo. In February 2025, it was widely reported that a transfer to Dinamo had been agreed at €1.5 million before it was converted to a loan. Belcar, who has been capped 6 times for Croatia's U21 team, is under contract with Varaždin until December 2027. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €500k.
