Krystian Bielik Transfer from Birmingham City to Legia Warszawa

Krystian Bielik received permission from Birmingham City to change clubs. About a month ago, Legia Warszawa contacted the 27-year-old, but financial issues became a hurdle, according to Tomasz Włodarczyk from Meczyki.pl. Despite discussions and Bielik's interest in joining Legia, financial issues prevented the transfer. Birmingham City demanded two million pounds for Bielik, and he wanted to maintain a salary of around one million pounds per season. Birmingham City is not interested in loaning Bielik.

Legia Warsaw had reportedly expressed interest in Krystian Bielik, a 27-year-old Polish defender and midfielder, around a year ago. With Birmingham City recently achieving promotion back to the Championship, it appears that Bielik might be leaving the club, as they are open to receiving offers for him. Bielik, who was a regular starter until January 2025, has seen a reduction in his playing time, leading the club to contemplate selling him to ease their financial burden due to his significant weekly wages of 20,000 pounds. Although he wishes to continue playing in the Championship to enhance his international career, a move back to the Polish league with Legia Warsaw is possible if he consents to a considerable pay cut. Bielik had previously indicated that the club had shown interest in him, but Birmingham was not prepared to sell him at that time. His contract is due to expire in June 2027, and Transfermarkt currently values him at €3 million.
