On the last day of the European transfer window, Independiente sold 80% of Kevin Lomónaco's economic rights for US$ 5.5 million to the Spanish club Elche. From this amount, Independiente will retain US$ 1.7 million because the club owed Elche for the purchase of midfielder Ivan Marcone in 2022 and owed Bragantino for the signing of Lomónaco in 2025.

According to TYC, 24-year-old defender Kevin Lomónaco was transferred from Independiente to Elche. The Spanish club officially presented Lomónaco as a new signing with a special video. The transfer was completed for 4.8 million dollars for 80% of the player's rights. Independiente had a debt to Elche of 1.8 million dollars for the purchase of Iván Marcone in 2022, and 30% of Lomónaco's transfer rights were used to settle that debt. Of the remaining three million dollars, 25% corresponds to Red Bull Bragantino. Independiente also has a debt to the Brazilian club of a sum close to three million dollars. The approximately 2.85 million dollars that remain for Independiente must be used to finish paying for Kevin Lomónaco, who joined the club in mid-2024.

Kevin Lomónaco is leaving Independiente to join Elche as a new reinforcement in a transfer that is being described as a million-dollar operation.
