FC Hermannstadt's 21-year-old Romanian-Italian defender, Kevin Ciubotaru, is being monitored by several clubs, including Fortuna Sittard. Other interested parties reportedly include Dutch sides Heerenveen and Go Ahead Eagles, as well as Real Valladolid and Celta Vigo from Spain. Clubs from Italy and Belgium are also interested. Some teams could pay the defender's €450,000 release clause before the end of the current transfer window. Previously, Italian clubs had lower offers rejected. The current interest follows a transfer to FCSB that fell through in December. At that time, an agreement on a €450,000 fee was reached between the clubs, but negotiations between the player and the team stalled. Ciubotaru has been capped four times for Romania's U21s. He joined Hermannstadt in August 2023 and is under contract until June 2028. In the SuperLiga this season, he has made 20 appearances and provided one assist. His current market value on Transfermarkt is €400,000.
