Kayky of Bahia was in advanced negotiations to join Corinthians for the 2026 season. Corinthians' executive Marcelo Paz and football manager Renan Bloise were involved in the discussions. Directors from Corinthians had direct contact with Kayky, and the technical staff at Corinthians was making plans for his arrival. Kayky prioritized Corinthians over another ongoing negotiation with a different Série A club. The player's barber posted an image referencing the negotiation with Corinthians. The negotiations ended because Corinthians' president decided not to proceed with the signing.
