According to UOL, Kaique has returned to Palmeiras mid-season after a loan period at Nacional, Portugal. He had prominence in Portuguese football, leading the national championship in penalty saves last season with four saves. An internal evaluation at Palmeiras was that a permanent transfer was the best option for all parties.

ESPN reported on April 18 that a purchase option for Kaique can be exercised by Nacional by the end of the season. Following their continuation in the first division of Portuguese football, Nacional is expected to decide soon whether to make an offer to Palmeiras.

Nacional has officially signed Kaique, a 22-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper, on a one-season loan from Palmeiras. The player will be available to coach Tiago Margarido for training on Tuesday. Last season, he played for Farense, also on loan from Palmeiras, where he impressed by taking over the starting position following an injury to Ricardo Velho. His performances caught the attention of other clubs, including Vitória de Guimarães.
