Presa has accused Tenerife of breaking an agreement regarding Montiel. He stated that Rayo Vallecano had reached an agreement with Tenerife 15 days prior. Despite interest from many clubs, Rayo Vallecano prioritized Tenerife and permitted them to negotiate conditions with the player. However, Tenerife encountered financial fair play issues. Although Rayo Vallecano assisted them, Tenerife did not honor their commitment, assuming that Rayo Vallecano needed to offload Montiel.
