Manchester City are among several Premier League clubs interested in Real Sociedad right-back Jon Aramburu and have conducted checks on the player as they evaluate options for the position. Liverpool have also performed checks on the 24-year-old Venezuela international. Sources indicate that the club has received very positive reports. During the summer, City explored other possibilities, such as Chelsea’s Malo Gusto and Tottenham Hotspur’s Timo Livramento, while Aramburu was also under their consideration. Tottenham, Newcastle United, Everton and Fulham also looked at the defender during the summer. Aramburu, whose defensive qualities and ability to also operate at left-back are seen as appealing, is under contract with Real Sociedad until 2030. His contract contains a release clause of around £50 million. The defender has 22 caps and one goal for Venezuela and joined the Spanish club in July 2024.
