Jhohan Romaña leaving San Lorenzo?
There is a firm offer from Saudi Arabia for the Colombian player valued at close to four million dollars, according to TYC. The transfer is stalled due to the lack of a signature from a secretary and other members of the Board of Directors, which is slowing down the operation.
According to TYC, Jhohan Romaña posted a message on his Instagram account that is being interpreted as a farewell to San Lorenzo, amid speculation about a potential transfer. Although the club will attempt to retain him, the Colombian defender plans to emigrate. The management's primary goal is to raise money to improve the institution's finances, and for this reason, it is probable that Romaña has played his last match for the club against Central Córdoba (SdE).
TYC reports that a Saudi Arabian football team has a new and stronger interest in Romaña and would be willing to pay approximately four million dollars for the transfer.
Jhohan Romaña is eager to move from San Lorenzo to Gremio in Brazil, although San Lorenzo's president, Marcelo Moretti, has stated that he is not available for transfer. Gremio has maintained their $4.5 million bid for 80% of Romaña's transfer rights, but they have adjusted the payment terms to include $2.4 million in cash. Romaña is urging the club to accept Gremio's offer, as he is enticed by the more lucrative contract proposed by the Brazilian club. While San Lorenzo is in need of funds, the president is more inclined to transfer another player, Elián Irala, who is currently being pursued by Internacional. The Brazilian transfer window closes today and will reopen in three weeks, suggesting that if the transfer is not completed now, it could potentially be revisited in the near future.
Gremio showed interest in Jhohan Romaña and offered 4.5 million USD for 80% of his transfer rights. However, San Lorenzo rejected the offer and declared the player 'intransferible', meaning he will stay at the club at least until mid-year. The player is considered a key part of the team, and San Lorenzo initially considered accepting a proposal close to 6 million USD for the same percentage of his transfer rights, but ultimately decided against it.
