Jay Gorter, a 25-year-old Dutch goalkeeper, appears likely to leave his Cypriot club Pafos due to their difficult financial situation. Go Ahead Eagles are following Gorter as a potential destination. Qarabag has also registered interest in the goalkeeper. It is reported that Gorter is not interested in a move to Azerbaijan. A transfer to Go Ahead Eagles is considered a serious and financially realistic option, as it is said that Pafos is willing to have a portion of his contract bought out. The interest from the Deventer club is because their current goalkeeper, Jari de Busser, has indicated he wants to leave. Gorter joined Pafos in July 2025 and has two caps for the Netherlands U21 team. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €700k.
