Globo.com reports that Coritiba is interested in signing 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder Japa from Cruzeiro. Coritiba was another team that had an interest in signing the player, but the conversations did not progress. The player has a contract with Cruzeiro until 2030 and was loaned to Mirassol for the rest of the season to get more playing time. This followed a period where he did not establish himself in the first team, for which he made a combined 10 appearances and scored two goals in Série A and Campeonato Mineiro in the 2025/2026 season.
