Jan Van den Bergh decided to move to Júbilo Iwata in Japan for a lucrative deal, which he could not pass up for the sake of his family. Despite interest from other clubs in the Belgian and Dutch first divisions, Van den Bergh chose not to 'betray' NAC Breda by transferring to another top-tier club in the Benelux.
