The rumour that Jadon Sancho would move to Palmeiras is a false report. The story spread on Tuesday after Spanish streamer Spursito reactivated an old, inactive X account and posed as 'Marca' journalist Alfonso Partidor to report that the currently clubless Sancho would sign. Citing a source from the club's environment, Brazilian media reported a statement that it was madness that the club had to comment to deny the news of some random person. The report is confirmed to be false, and Sancho remains in search of a club.

Jadon Sancho, who has been without a club since early July, has reached an agreement with Palmeiras. The deal is for a two-year contract with an option for an additional season. The 26-year-old English winger had been repeatedly linked with a possible return to Borussia Dortmund after an injury to Giannis Konstantelias, but BVB signed his compatriot Ethan Nwaneri on loan from FC Arsenal instead. The forward, who has 23 caps and 3 goals for England, had also been the subject of interest from other clubs including Atlético Madrid and Fiorentina. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €18.00m.
