Jadon Sancho, a 26-year-old English winger, is a free agent after his time with Manchester United and Aston Villa in the Premier League and has been linked with a return to Borussia Dortmund for months. BVB bosses have publicly described Sancho as an exceptional player and have also stated that there is nothing concrete to announce. There are conditions for his return, and it is reported that Borussia Dortmund is willing to pay a maximum base salary of five million euros. It is also reported that BVB boss Lars Ricken and sporting director Ole Book do not want to pay a signing bonus and expect the player to accept a performance-related contract. Sancho is said to be open to rejoining the club and prepared to make financial concessions. Both Ricken and Book watched several of Sancho's performances while he was on loan at Aston Villa, and scouts were also sent to England in the spring. This has reportedly led to an internal belief that Sancho could regain his form at BVB. The club is thought to be considering a move for a low price towards the end of the transfer window if a successor for Karim Adeyemi, who left for FC Barcelona, is not found. Sancho is also said to fit the club's internal profile for a new playmaker. There has not yet been any personal contact between the club and the player because Dortmund officials do not want to raise his expectations prematurely. The winger has 23 caps and 3 goals for England and has a market value of €18.00m, according to Transfermarkt. Several other clubs, including Juventus, Beşiktaş, and Napoli, have also been linked with the player.
