Scottish international centre-back Jack Hendry, 31, is expected to remain at Al-Ettifaq. Reports suggested the club were struggling to offer a new contract due to financial constraints. Ben Jacobs reported that Al-Ettifaq received an additional budget, which allowed talks to advance and that Hendry is expected to stay. Additional funds have now been made available, allowing Al-Ettifaq to proceed with plans to keep Hendry at the club beyond this summer. Jack Hendry said that he has a lot of offers and that having played in different countries has opened up many markets for him. He said this has naturally helped him and that he has been pleasantly surprised. He also said that while it can become quiet for some players when they go out of contract, it has been busy for him, and he will probably make his decision before the tournament starts. Hendry's current contract expires on June 30, 2026, and he has a Transfermarkt market value of €2.50m. The defender has earned 38 caps and scored 3 goals for Scotland, and made 30 appearances with 1 goal in the Saudi Pro League during the 2025/2026 season.
