Following reports that his transfer to Al-Ettifaq was not proceeding, Axel Kouame has confirmed that he is staying at AIK. He told TV4 there were only talks and rumors, and that he will stay and do his best for the club. Expressen had reported earlier on Monday that while AIK had accepted a bid of around 40 million kronor, the transfer appeared to be collapsing due to salary demands from the player's representatives.

According to a report from Anel Avdic, Al-Ettifaq cancelled the intended transfer for Axel Kouamé. AIK had accepted an offer of 40 million kronor, but the transfer was not completed because the salary terms demanded by the player's representatives were too high.

Saudi media indicates that Axel Kouame's transfer to Al-Ettifaq is approaching. According to Al Yaoum and Arriyadiyah, Al-Ettifaq has reached an agreement on personal terms with Kouame. A deal is expected to be finalized provided that AIK accepts the bid and Kouame passes a medical examination. Al Yaoum reports that confirmation of the transfer is expected soon. Arriyadiyah reports that Kouame is involved in the situation regarding the foreign player quota at Al-Ettifaq, which is not yet settled.

According to Anel Avdic, Al-Ettifaq has submitted a bid of 40 million kronor for Axel Kouamé at AIK. AIK is about to accept the offer. Axel Kouamé has stated that he wants to complete the move.
