Newcastle United hold a genuine interest in the defensive midfielder Ibrahima Sory Bangoura. Newcastle's manager, Eddie Howe, is looking to strengthen the squad in preparation for European football next season. Genk's sporting director, Dimitri De Condé, denied suggestions of a €17 million release clause for Bangoura. Genk will be looking for a fee in excess of €15 million to sanction his sale this summer.
