Benfica is reportedly interested in Gustavo Puerta, a 23-year-old Colombian midfielder who is also a target for Olympiacos. Puerta's contract with his club, Racing Santander, contains a clause valued between 16 and 17.5 million euros. Journalist Bruno Andrade revealed on CNN Portugal that Benfica is considering Puerta as a midfield option if Richard Rios departs. The Colombian international has 11 caps and one goal for his country. He joined Racing Santander in September 2025 on a contract that runs until June 2029. His market value on Transfermarkt is €18.00m. In July 2026, Racing Santander reportedly received offers of approximately €15 million and €16 million for the player. Racing Santander signed him from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported fee of €3.5 million.
