Tapia will sign a contract until December 31, 2029, and São Paulo will hold 60% of his economic rights. The contract includes an option to purchase an additional 20% of the rights by June 30, 2027. Tapia was on loan at the club until June 30, 2026. Hernán Crespo was pleased with him, and Tapia will now remain with the club on a permanent basis.

Gonzalo Tapia is on loan at São Paulo from River Plate, with his current contract valid until the middle of next year. According to executive of football Rui Costa, the clubs have begun discussions for São Paulo to acquire the 23-year-old permanently.
