Fiorentina have initiated contacts for Giovanni Baroni, a 17-year-old Argentine attacking midfielder with clear Italian origins who is owned by Talleres. The player, born in 2009, is highly regarded in his home country. While his contract contains a €25 million release clause, it is thought he could leave Argentina for a fee of around €15 million plus bonuses. It is reported that many top European clubs are following the midfielder, but Fiorentina are making an active effort to acquire him. Baroni's contract runs until December 2028 and he has a current market value of €2.50m.
